About
It’s the most wonderful time of the year; a time for community, giving, and cheer as we reflect on the year and celebrate the holidays. What better way to gear up for the holiday season than to participate in a community jewelry-making class, where you will learn the skills necessary to make beautiful gemstone pendants.
The California Oil Museum is hosting a Holiday Wire Wrapping Class, led by Blue Box Imaginarium’s Julie Yip. Learn how to make ornate pendants with gemstones and wire. Each piece makes for a beautiful and special holiday gift, or personal treasure.
Blue Box Imaginarium was established in 2011 by Julie Yip. Along with having an extensive rock collection, Julie has nearly 20 years of experience with wire wrapping and lapidary. The goal behind each piece of jewelry is to “make beautiful wearable artworks that offset and enhance the wearer's own beauty, all while keeping imagination and creativity alive.”
Gemstones, materials and tools will be provided during class. The Museum will also serve light holiday refreshments for you to enjoy. The class will take place within the Energy Education Center of the California Oil Museum. If you have a personal gemstone you would like to use, please feel free to bring to class and Julie will determine if it can be used for your pendant.
The workshop is open to adults and young adults, 12 years and older. Students 16 years and younger must have adult supervision. The cost per student is $50.
