Join us at the the California Oil Museum to celebrate National Fossil Day! We are excited to partner with the National Parks Service and the Ventura Gem & Mineral Society to bring forth fun and educational fossil-related activities to the public. Located within the Energy Education Lab at the California Oil Museum, Fossil Day will take place on October 16th from 2pm-5pm.Â
Learn about the science and telling importance of fossils, watch a dinosaur movie, partake in an outdoor fossil dig, examine fossils through the microscope, complete a fossil craft, and much more, led by the Museum’s Educator! Visitors will have the opportunity to become a Jr. Paleontologist Ranger, complete the workbook, and earn a National Parks Badge. The Museum will also have demonstrations and speakers from the Ventura Gem and Mineral Society.Â
Come to the Museum to view dinosaur fossils, learn about fossils and paleontology, and much more! You don’t want to miss this exciting and educational event! It is sure to be Dino-mite!Â
Fossil Day is open to all ages. The California Oil Museum is located at 1001 E. Main Street in Santa Paula, California. Suggested donation is $4 per person. The Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10am to 4pm. For more information visit www.caoilmuseum.org or call 805-933-0076.Â
